In human beings the new offspring is born sexually.

A human male has  23 pairs of chromosomes from which 22 are autosomes and 1 is for sex determination. It consists of longer X and shorter Y chromosome. A human female has 23 pairs of chromosome out of which 22 are autosomes and 1 is for sex determination . Female has X X chromosomes. If the child inherit X chromosome from father then it will be girl child but if it will inherit Y chromosome from father then it will be a boy child. Thus, the chances are 50 % to be a male or female.
