The type of drainage pattern are dendritic, deranged, centripetal and trellis. The drainage pattern of Yamuna river is more or less the same as that of Ganges river, except it is much faster. During its flow from its source to Ganges, it is joined by lot of tributaries, most of which are left bank.

The Yamuna is one of a largest river of northern India and the largest tributary of the river Ganges. It originates from the Yamunotri glacier in the state of Uttarakhand and travels southwestward till it makes curved turns towards the east to join with Ganga river as its tributary in tribeni.
