Here your answer:
When she died the sparrows express their sorrow by not chirrup. They gathered in thousand around her dead body. The sparrows also express their love for author's grandmother by not eating bread crumbs thrown to them by author's mother and when the dead body was taken for cremation, they fly away quietly.

Hey mate here is your answer....
When the grandmother died thousands of sparrows gathered near the dead body. There was no chirruping as they kept silent. The author's mother threw crumbs of bread to them but they did not notice them. As soon as the grandmother's corps was carried off, they flew away quietly. Thus the sparrows their grief.
