i) Ganga is being fed by Gangotri glacier.

The main characteristics features of the Brahmaputra River system are:

i) It rises in tibet, East of Mansarovar lake

ii) It is slightly longer than Indus and most of its course lies outside India

iii) It has a braided channel,in Assam , forming

many riverine islands
