Explanation:

If you store or stack them with the north poles together, this causes them to lose their magnetism faster than normal. Instead, you want to store them with the north pole of one touching the south pole of another. The magnets will attract each other in this orientation and maintain each other's fields.

Mention two causes why magnets may lose their magnetic properties.

☞ Two causes how magnets lose their magnetic properties are:-

• By dropping it from a height,

• By heating it to a high temperature.

Describe how magnets should be stored.

☞ Magnets should be stored in Magnetic Keepers to minimize self-demagnetization. A magnetic keeper is a soft iron bar.

While storing bar magnets, a bar of magnet is placed with the opposite poles close to each other and the magnetic keeper is placed at each end of the pair of magnets.

While storing horse-shoe magnets, only the magnetic keeper is required.

Extra: Refer the attachment and see that how magnets are stored.
