by doctine of lapse lord dalhousie had annexed many states of india such as satara jhansi and nagpur .it create a feeling of insecurity and resentment among hindu rulers.
2:-lord dalhousie had annexed oudh in the pretext of misgoverment.

1)By adopting DOCTRINE OF LAPSE :- The British annexed the states of Jhansi, Satara, Jaipur, Udaypur, ect. by following doctrine of lapse, it was done when a ruler died without a natural heir for his kingdom so it passed to the britishers.

2)On the pretext of ALLEGED MISRULE :- Lord Dalhousie annexed Awadh on the pretext(pretext means justification for a course of action which is not the true reason) of alleged misrule.
