Small intestine (SI) is about 21 feet in length. So actually plenty of space. But to increase its capacity of absorption the wall of SI is thrown into a series of folds.

1. it consists villi , numerous of villi over it which increased its surface area of absorption .
2. when the food ( nutritional food ) comes in contact with villi , then from there it is directly transmitted in the blood stream .
