Mention with reason the colour changes observed when:

a. Silver chloride is exposed to sunlight.

b. Copper powder is strongly heated in presence of oxygen

c. A piece of zinc is dropped in copper sulphate solution.​

Answer:

A) Because of decomposition reaction, When silver chloride is left exposed in sunlight, it decomposed to black metallic color silver and chlorine gas is evolved.

B) Copper undergoes oxidation and black coloured copper oxide is formed.

C) Zinc displaces copper and solution changes from blue to colourless.

These are the reasons for colour changes.
