The Young Bengal movement was a group of radical Bengali free thinkers emerging from Hindu College, Calcutta. They were also known as Derozians, after their firebrand teacher at Hindu College, Henry Louis Vivian Derozio.
Derozio was one of the rare teachers whose attachment to the knowledge,love of truth and hatred of evil made a profound impression upon those who came in contact with him, like Socrates ,he pursued that was right and was accused of mis guidelines to the youth . some influential Hindus had removed from his service,and shortly thereafter ,he died .But Derozio influence continued ,and it was known as the young Bengal movement,at that time all the leading movements of that period were connected to it.
