In the short scene Antonio pleads with shylock to hear him out but was in vain as shylock is steadfast in his revenge.
Shylock chides the gaoler for taking Antonio out of prison at his request.
shylock refuses mercy to Antonio by saying him that he " Will not be made of soft and dull eyed fool to shake his head, relent and sigh and yield to Christian intercessors (pleaders)."
