Hi friend,

Question:-
Mercury and bromine are both:
a) Liquid at room temperature
b) solid at room temperature
c) gases at room temperature
d) both (a) and (b)

Answer:-
Mercury and Bromine are both liquid at room temperature.

So,the correct option is (a)

→Mercury is liquid metal
→Bromine is a liquid non metal

Bromine is a liquid because the intermolecular forces are strong. And so it does not vaporize. It forms diatomic molecules.

Mercury has a low melting point and poor conductor of electricity. It does not form diatomic molecules in the gas phase.

So,both of these elements are considered as liquids at room temperature.

So,the option is (a).

Hope it helps
