Mercury is the only commonmetal which is liquid at ordinary temperatures. Mercury is sometimes called quicksilver. It is a heavy, silvery-white liquid metal. It is a rather poor conductor of heat if compared with other metals but it is a fair conductor of electricity.

✔✔mercury is the heaviest metal but it is lighter in thermometer because it is in liquid form and it is in very less quantity just like a thread... so it is the reason that why thermometer is light in weight where as mercury is very heavy...
