Answer:  he names of all the stars, planets and satellites are Proper Nouns. It is just that our planet Earth, is an exception. While the names of all the other planets like Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto are exclusively and only Proper Nouns; the Earth is both a Proper Noun and a Common Noun.

But it depends on the way the said word is spelt. When the "e" is capitalised i.e. when we spell Earth as "Earth" then we are referring to the planet Earth and this word, "Earth" here, is a Proper Noun.

But when it is spelt as just "earth" i.e. without its first letter, "e", being capitalised, it is a Common Noun and it means dirt and soil that are used for landfilling.
