a) we can produce large amount of plants in short time.

b) disease - free plants can be multiplied.

c) seedless plants can be multiplied.

d) character of the plants where sexual reproduction is absent can be combined using somatic hybridisation.

ii) Demerits of tissue culture are:-

a) it requires great expense because it needs latest techniques in the laboratory.

b) it requires Acclimatization of plants grown by tissue culture to the external environment.

c) it requires special expertise.
