Demerits:

• Caste system leads to conflicts in the society.
• Due to the caste system, there are seats which are reserved for the various positions in the universities and government which is a reason for conflict.
• Caste system adds to the vote bank during the election time.

Explanation:

The caste system has brought a lot of discrimination and conflicts amongst the people. There are times when the lower caste is still treated shabbily in the country. But during the time of election they add to the vote banks for the leaders in politics.
