What are the merits of Indian constitution?
Indian constitution or let's say the bulkiest constitution in the whole world is a detailed documents of laws, rules and procedures to be followed by legislative, executive,judiciary and all the individuals living in the country. Indian constitution was borrowed from different constitutions all over the world. But it's not a cut paste work. Features borrowed from other constitutions are moulded in such a way that it suits the very nature of India’s diversity. Talking about the merits then we can say that:
Indian constitution has detail procedures to follow to carry out any legislative, executive and judiciary activities due to which it provides lots of transperancy in the system.
Indian constitution has bestowed Indians with fundamental rights and doesn't matter what the case it, fundamental rights prevails.
Indian constitution has given the complete power into the hands of common people and So the preamble, which is called sole of the constitution, says “we the people” and not “we the govt
Indian constitution has provided with integrated and independent judiciary.
Indian constitution works on the concept of sharing of power and doesn't concentrate the power in one hand.
It works on universal adult franchise, which means anyone above 18 years irrespective of one's caste, creed and religion have the right to vote.

Indian constitution is lengthiest and best in the world. And its merits are,
1. India's Constitution is written by a group of eminent members that consists of lawyers, teachers and comprised representatives of all sections of indian community.
2. Our constitution is created from various sources by making necessary modifications and making them suitable for indian conditions, at the same time avoiding their errors.
3. Amendment can only be done without affecting the basic principles of the constitution.
4. Three tier government, bicameral legislature, dual government polity and division of powers.
5. Independent judiciary and several independent bodies(EC, CAG)
6. Secular in nature (not complete separation of religion and state, but giving equal respect and protection to all religion.)
