The c ock is crowing,
The stream is flowing,
The small birds twitter,
The lake doth glitter
The green field sleeps in the sun;
The oldest and youngest
Are at work with the strongest;
The cattle are grazing,
Their heads never raising;
There are forty feeding like one!

Like an army defeated
The snow hath retreated,
And now doth fare ill
On the top of the bare hill;
The plowboy is whooping- anon-anon:
There's joy in the mountains;
There's life in the fountains;
Small clouds are sailing,
Blue sky prevailing;
The rain is over and gone!

    The poem Written in March was written by the poet named William Wordsworth. It was written in the year of 1798. In this poem the poet is speaking himself. The poet addresses to the objects around him. For example line one, two, and three, The c ock is crowing, The stream is flowing, The small birds twitter. The poem Written in March describes a scenery, and a series of actions. For example line eight, The cattle are grazing, describing an example of action. The poet includes lines two, four, and five, the poet writes The stream is flowing, The lake doth glitter, and The green field sleeps in the sun, describing an example of the scenery being held.

     The poet includes words that are of a common speaker. Throughout the poem the poet uses concrete nouns. For instance using the five senses, see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. The poet's poem does not indicate whether it is informal or formal. Since the context of the poem only includes mostly objects around he does not address anyone specific. Most of the language in his poem are related to nature. For example lines two, four, and five, the poet writes The stream is flowing, The lake doth glitter, and The green field sleeps in the sun. Also the poem includes several references to personification techniques. For example lines four, eighteen, and nineteen. The poet wrote The lake doth glitter, There's joy in the mountains, There's life in the fountains.

     The poem is organized into paragraphs. Each paragraph is evenly separated with ten sentences in each. Resulting in two paragraphs and twenty sentences. The poet does not repeat words twice, unless it is a common word like The, or And. The poet does not repeat any phrases twice. The poet does not capitalizes words in his poem. Other than capitalizing the beginning word of each line. Throughout this poem, the poet also does not include any italics in it. However the poet does include several punctuation's in his poem. Those including commas, semicolons, a dash, and an exclamation point, but he only includes an exclamation point on the last sentence of each paragraph.  The poet also includes rhyming techniques in his poem. The poet will rhyme every ending word with the next ending word on the next line.

     Throughout the poem, the poet includes tone. A tone where it feels calming and relaxing. Throughout the poem there is no anger sounding lines to it but rather just a normal conversation almost. The poet includes no attitude in his poem. The tone is calm and soothing. It also seems a bit relaxing reading through. Throughout the poem the poet includes the emotion of happiness and sadness. Throughout the poem it goes from happy to sad and then back to happiness.

     Overall the poem gives off the feeling of calmness. It gives the effect of calmness to the readers. The poem is trying to reach out to the readers by describing scenery movements and also hidden messages as well. The poem is describing the scenery in March. What is happening at the time and what the people are doing at the time. Overall effect of me would be that I find this poem very calming and very relaxing. Describing the scenery for me included the feeling of relaxation in reading it. To me the poet is trying to tell us the scenes that he are seeing himself. The scenes that have happened or are happening. Although the poet writes this poem as a feeling of scenery but he also includes the happiness at the end of the poem. Reassuring that everything is okay. The poet gives the overall effect of calming to me.
