Metals are elements which give cations (positive ions) naturally, (except for H). Some examples are Iron(Fe,) Aluminum(Al),Copper(Cu), Cobalt(Co), Zinc(Zn)… Non-metals are elements which give anions (negative ions) naturally. Some examples are Oxygen(O), Nitrogen(N), Iodine(I), Chlorine(Cl), Flourine(F)….
