They both weigh the same and it's been awhile since I've held a 1kg metal ball... I would think that you think they weight heavier. Perhaps it's also the way you grip the materials too. The ball either has a handle or no handle. Maybe you perceive the ball as heavier for fear of it landing on your foot when you hold it so you hold it tighter therefore making it feel heavier due to more muscle contraction.
