Metal compound ‘R’ reacts with dilute sulphuric acid to produce effervescence of gas ‘S’ which extinguishes a burning candle. Write a balanced chemical equation for the reaction if one of the compounds formed is calcium sulphate.

Equation : CaCO3 + H2SO4 → CaSO4 + H2O + CO2
