Let x be the valency of desired metal.

Comparing formula of metal oxide M2O with standard formula M2Ox, valency of the required metal M is x = 1.

Hence, formula of its compounds is given by -

(a) Metal phosphide - M3P.

(b) Metal Phosphate - M3PO4.

(c) Metal phosphite - M3PO3.
