Answer:

All metals except noble metals (silver, copper, gold and platinum)

Explanation:

Solution :-

Most of the metals react with acids to produce hydrogen gas and salt but some metals like silver, copper, gold and platinum do not react with acids. Some metal like sodium, calcium and potassium react rapidly with acids. Reactivity of metals play an important role with its reaction with acids.

The general equation that describes the chemical reaction between a metal and an acid is metal + acid = salt + hydrogen

Example -

iron + Hydrochloric Acid = Iron chloride + Hydrogen

Fe + 2HCL ⇒ Fecl₂ + H₂

When a metal reacts with a base it produces hydrogen and salt.

Example - Sodium hydroxide gives hydrogen and sodium zincate when reacts with zinc metal.

2NaOH + Zn ⇒ Na₂ZnO₂ + H₂

So, most of the metals react with acids and bases to produce hydrogen gas but not all metals.
