Answer:

There is a simple laboratory test to see if a gas is hydrogen. A burning wooden splint goes pop if it is put into a test tube of hydrogen. This is because the flame ignites the hydrogen, which burns explosively to make a loud sound.

 This is because atoms are always competing with each other for valence electrons. Hydrogen "wants" those electrons. So an active metal reacts with acids to produce hydrogen.

Hope this helps.

HERE U GO..........

METALS REACT WITH ACID TO PRODUCE HYDROGEN GAS .

THIS CAN BE JUSTIFIED WITH THE HELP OF A CHEMICAL REACTION.

2Na+2HCL----->2NaCL+H₂

HERE IT IS CLEAR THAT HYDROGEN GAS IS PRODUCED .

THUS THE STATEMENT IS JUSTIFIED.

HOPE IT HELPS U..........☺☺☺☺
