Metals when react with HCl to form salt and hydrogen gas but when they react with concentrated HNO3 to form water instead if hydrogen gas. Why? give two example of metal when react with Dil HNO3 to form salt and hydrogen gas. ​

Answer: yes whenever any metal react with acid they give salt and hydrogen gas but when any metal react with concentrated HNO3 then it give water and not hydrogen gas because HNO3 is highly oxidising agent and it oxidise hydrogen gas to water and itself converts into some oxides of nitrogen.

Magnesium and manganese are the two metals that react with HNO3 to give hydrogen gas.
