Hi

INTRODUCTION:Metamorphosis is the transformation of the larva into adult through drastic changes.

Meta means -beyond ;morphe means -form.

Example are frog,insects etc.

THE TERM METAMORPHOSIS IS NOT USED WHILE DESCRIBING HUMAN DEVELOPMENT BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING REASONS:

1)Humans belongs to viviparous category (directly give birth to young ones)

2)Only internal fertilization takes place(zygote & development of foetus  takes place inside inside the mothers womb or uterus)

Hope it helps you!!!

The term metamorphosis is not used while describing human development. Why?

Answer:

In human beings, body parts of an adult are present from the time of birth itself. Whereas, in metamorphosis, the parts of the adult are different from those at the time of birth.
