A metaphor is a word or a phrase which conveys an implicit meaning in the sentence.

e.g. Camel is the ship of the desert.

(The above sentence is a metaphor as it explains that camel is only a medium to cross a desert. So it's been compared to an unalloyed object i.e 'ship')
