Methane gas is collected by downward displacement of water Because it is insoluble in water and is lighter than air.

Due to its two characteristics;  unsolvable in water and is lighter than air, the Methane gas is obtained by downward displacement of water.

Methane is one of the powerful greenhouse gases. Since methane can be obtained from landfills, it can be combusted to generate electricity, heat buildings, or power garbage wagons.
