 Yes, Methane ($CH_{4}$) is a green house gas and it is much more dangerous than carbon dioxide ($CO_{2}$). This is relatively a non-toxic gas. 

Green house gases are the gases which traps the heat of the sun and it thus  heats the Earth. Methane is one of the green house gases, as it traps the heat of the Sun. It traps 30 times more heat than carbon dioxide.
