Throwing is the process applied for rewinding silk fiber.

It is an industrial process carried out in silk spinning industries. In this process wherein silk that has already been reeled into skeins, is cleaned, twisted and subjected to a twist and is wound in a bobbin. Then the yarn is twisted together with threads, in a procedure called doubling.

The process of silk production has a technical name called as sericulture. Extraction of raw silk begins by the cultivation of the silkworms formed on mulberry leaves.

Once the worms start to develop, these are dissolved in boiling water in order to extract individual long fibers.
