The official seal of any joint stock company is called the common seal. This is also called as corporate seal or company seal as well. The common seal is now optional for any company, earlier it was mandatory in some countries.
The common seal of joint stock company is made with the agreement of two companies and is used for documents signed in joint business. Today , the common seal is used for following purposes:
1. For the Document which needs to be executed as deed.
2. For the share certificates issued by the company.
