Some of the ways to preserve water and prevent contamination are :
1. Keep out oils, fat, or grease from the sink. Refrain from pouring cooking oil, fat or grease down the kitchen sink. Instead put it with the solid waste.
2. Use minimal amount of detergent and bleach.
3. Reduce the use of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers. Excessive use of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers leads to water pollution as the chemicals contained in the products often find way into the water systems through surface runoff or infiltration into the soil which will ruin the soil that can be used for other productive purposes.
4. Avoid direct dumping into water systems. By all means possible, we should stop disposing rubbish or any other waste products into lakes, rivers, streams or oceans.
5. Support green-oriented companies. These are the companies that take creative initiatives to reduce water pollution.
Development of a core technology for advanced treatment of nondegradable contaminants and nutrient matters. Such devices also help us to stop water from being polluted.
