Answer:

Trial and error is not a method of finding the best solution, nor a method of finding all solutions. It is a problem solving technique that is used simply to find a solution. In this method, a person will try the option that has the best possible chances of succeeding. If that didn’t work, they can try the next best option until they find a good solution. One does not require to have a lot of knowledge to use trail and error however, it may require you to have lot of patience. Trial and error is inefficient in situations where making an error is not an option.

The purpose of trial and error is not to find out why a problem was solved. It is primarily used to solve the problem. While this may be good in some fields, it may not work so well in others which ask "why" a solution works.

Trial and error is a fundamentalmethod of problem solving. it is characterised repeated, varied attempts which are continued until success, or until the agent stops trying. ... Edward Thorndike showed how to manage a trial-and-errorexperiment in the laboratory.
