Marbling or binding
Explanation:
Marbling or binding method referred to the process of preparing a cloth for dyeing. It is a conventional method that is being used by the current fashion industry which refers to it as 'tie and dye'.
In this method of dyeing, the cloth is tied tightly with a string at select points depending on the required pattern of dyeing. The tied cloth is then dipped in the dye. It can be a single colour or multiple colour. In case of multiple colours, one colour is tied and dyed first. It is let to dry. Then the process is repeated for each colour.
Example: Bandhani where the pattern is mostly spherical.
