Rancidity can be prevented using the following methods:

Adding antioxidants (substances which prevent oxidation) to food. Storing food in airtight containers to slow the process of rancidification.

Refrigerating food also helps to slow down rancidification.

Rancidity is a condition produced by the oxidation of fat and oil in food marked by unpleasent smell and taste. To prevent rancidity, we can:-

•Store food which have oil and fat in air tight containers.

•Keep food in refrigerators

•Add anti oxidents like butylated hydroxy anisole and butylated hydroxy toluene to food.

•Pack food in nitrogen gas
