There are four sigma bonds for carbon. Three valence electrons of carbon form a sigma bond with hydrogen and one valence electron forms one sigma bond with chlorine. There is no lone pair in the Carbon atom. Thus the hybridization of carbon on methyl chloride is sp3 and the structure is  tetrahedral geometry
