Explanation :- we know, rate of change of velocity is known as acceleration .
In simple way you can that ratio of change in velocity to time taken is not other than acceleration. e.g., acceleration = change in velocity/time taken

We know, unit of velocity /change in velocity = m/s
unit of time = sec
So, unit of acceleration = unit of velocity/unit of time
= m/s/s = m/s²

Hence, m/s² is unit of acceleration
