Let height of flag pole be "M" m.

A 15 metres high tower casts a shadow 24 metres.

Height of tower = 15 m

Shadow of tower = 24 m

So,

Height : Shadow

15 : 24

Similarly,

A flag pole casts a shadow 16 metres long.

Height of flag pole = "M" m

Shadow of flag pole = 16 m

Height : Shadow

M : 16

From above we have,

→ Height : Shadow

→ 15 : 24

→ M : 16

Cross multiply them

→ 15 × 16 = M × 24

→ 240 = 24M

→ M = 10 m

Height of flag pole is 10 m.

Let height of flag pole be H m.

A 15 metres high tower make a shadow of 24 metres.

Height = 15 m

Shadow = 24 m

____________________________

We know,

Height : Shadow

15 : 24

__________________________

Also,

The flag pole make a shadow which is 16 metres long.

Height of flag pole = H m

Shadow of flag pole = 16 m

Height : Shadow

H : 16

__________________________

We have,

Height : Shadow

⇒ 15 : 24

⇒ H : 16

Solve

⇒15 × 16 = H × 24

⇒240 = 24H

⇒ H = 10 m

Height is of 10 m
