Mg(OH)2 + 2HCl -----------> MgCl2 + 2H2O
The above balancing means 1 mole of magnesium hydroxide when reacted with 2 mole of hydrochloric acid, yields 1 mole of salt i.e. magnesium chloride and 2 moles of water.
