Michael has some coins in his pocket consisting of

dimes, nickels, and pennies. He has two more nickels

than dimes, and three times as many pennies as nickels.

How many of each kind of coins does he have if the
total value is 52 cents?

Let no of dimes be x

1. Nickels = x + 2

2. Pennies = 3x + 2

Equation : 4x + 4 = 52

(4x / 4 ) + 4 = 52 / 4

x+4 = 13

13 - 4 = 9

Dimes = 9

Nickels = 11 (9+2)

Pennies = 28 (9x3+2)
