Given:

Total marks of chemistry paper = 100

Total marks of physics paper = 300

Total marks that Michael got = 162

Michael score 70% more marks in Physics than in Chemistry.

To find:

His percentage in physics.

Solution:

Let the marks scored in Chemistry be x.

Therefore marks scored in Physics = 162- x

Since the marks scored in Physics is 70% more than in chemistry:

162-x - x = 70/100 *x

162 - 2x = 0.7x

162 = 2.7x

x = 60

Marks scored in Physics = 162 - x = 162 - 60 = 102

Therefore the marks scored in Physics will be 102.
