Given : Michael speed  racing car averaged 100 kph . His Car took 1 hr 10 mins including 10 min one pit stop for refuling & repair. Michael’s racing car used half a litre of petrol per mile. 25 litre fuel was filled at stp and 2 Litre was left at end of race

To find :  how much petrol was in the fuel tank when the race started

Solution:

Car Speed  = 100 kph

Time taken = 1 hr  and 10 mins

Stop  time = 10 mins

Driving time = 1 hr

Distance = 100  * 1  =  100 miles

Michael’s racing car used half a litre of petrol per mile

=> Fuel Used  = (1/2) * 100 = 50 Litre

Petrol Left  = 2 Litre

Hence fuel in Car = 50 + 2 = 52 litre

25 litre was filled in between

Hence Fuel in Starting = 52 - 25 = 27 Litre

27 Litre fuel was there in tank when race Started
