Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti was born on March 6, 1475 and lived until February 18, 1564. He is more commonly known simply as Michelangelo, and was an sculptor, painter, architect, and poet. Along with Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci, he is one of the most famous artists of the Italian Renaissance.
