Michelle and Jasmine inherit a sum of £6000.This amount is to be shared in the ratio 3:2.How much do they each receive?

6000=3x+2x

6000=5x

6000÷5=x

1200=x

3x+2x = 6000

5x = 6000

x= 1200

a = 3x = 3*1200 = 3600

b = 2x = 2*1200= 2400
