Microsporogenesis comprises the events which lead to the formation of the haploid unicellular microspores. During microsporogenesis the diploid sporogenous cells differentiate as microsporocytes (pollen mother cells or meiocytes) which divide by meiosis to form four haploid microspores.

Answer..

The process of formation of microspores or pollen grains from microspore mother cell through reduction division or meiosis is called as microsporogenesis.

A diploid cell in the microsporangium, called a microsporocyte or a pollen mother cell, undergoes meiosis and gives rise to four haploid microspores.
