Microsporogenisis is the formation of Pollen Grains.
- Generally, anther is tetrasporangiate, i.e., four microsporangiate situated at four corners.
- Each sporangiate consists bunch of parenchymatous cells termed as Sporangium tissue.
- The primary sporogenous cells form diploid microspore mother cells.
- Further, microspore mother cells undergo meiosis to form haploid microspores. They get arranged in form of a tetrad.
- Microspores develop into Pollen Grains on attaining maturity.
- At the time of dehiscence, the ephemeral middle layer walls breaks down releasing the pollen grains.
