The length of the side BC is 20 unit.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Let mid points of the sides AB and AC of a Δ ABC are D(3,5) and E(-3,-3) respectively.

Distance between two midpoints say D(3, 5) and E (-3, -3) is,

DE = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2)+(y_2-y_1)^2}

     = \sqrt{(-3-3)^2+(-3-5)^2}

     = \sqrt{(-6)^2+(-8)^2}

     = \sqrt{36+64}

     = 10 unit.

We know that the line joining the midpoints of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the third side and half of it.

Hence DE = \frac{1}{2} BC

⇒ BC = 2 DE

BC = 2\times10

⇒ BC = 20 unit.

Hence the length of the side BC is 20 unit.
