Factoring 4x² + 5√2 - 3 will be very tough with middle term split method . I suggest you to use sridhar acharya's method:-

For ax² + bx + c = 0 ,

The roots are :- $\frac{-b + \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}$ and $\frac{-b - \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac} }{2a}$
