Mikali wandered like a  'lost soul.'

Mikali is a refugee in a camp in Marsseilles, France. As their mother had died giving birth to his younger brother, he is the one who looks after the younger one. Since then it is Mikali who had looked after his brother. The younger one’s late night cry irritated the other refugees. They knew that it was due to lack of breast-milk and hunger that the younger one cried.

Mikali, a fourteen year old mature boy, had tried for a job. But no one was ready to give him a job because of the younger one. The refugees could no longer bear the cry. So they chased the brothers away. They then roamed around. They couldn’t sleep during night because of the howling on the streets. He is then compared to that of a ‘lost soul’, dying from lack of sleep and weariness, always carrying behind him the burden that was born for his misfortune.
