It is given that,

  • Mike finished colouring a picture in 7/12 hours
  • Vaishnav took 3/4 hours to color the same pic.

Now, in order to make denominators equal, find the L.C.M of 12 and 4.

  • 12 = 3 × 2²
  • 4 = 2²

L.C.M = 3 × 2²

          = 3 × 4

          = 12

we get,

  • 7/12  and 9/12

It is clear that 9/12 > 7/12

So,

9/12 - 7/12

=> 2/12

=> 1/6 hours

In decimal form, 0.167 hours.
