Mila reads at a rate of 2 paragraphs per minute.
After reading for 3 minutes, she had read a total of 6 paragraphs.

This situation can be represented with a linear equation written in point-slope form, where x represents the number of minutes and y represents the number of paragraphs.

Use this information to complete each statement about the linear equation.

no of minutes = x

no of paragraphs = y

ATQ

2x = y

if x = 1 if x = 2 if x = 3

2 (1) = y 2(2) = y 2(3) = y

2 = y 4 = y 6 = y

(x,y) = (1, 2) (x, y) = (2, 4) (x, y) = (3, 6)

the graph will lie on a slope passing through origin

The given situation can be represented with a slope intercept linear equation = y = 2x

where x is the number of minutes and, y is the number of paragraphs.

Since the number of paragraphs or minutes can't take any negative values thus the line will be defined in only in the first quadrant where both x and y will be positive.

The points formed will be - (2,3), (3,6) (-3,6) or (-2,6) ,

Considering only (3,6) (2,3) as (-3,6) or (-2,6) are negative.

Only the point (3,6) will satisfy the equation y = 2x and not the second point.

Thus, the required point will be (3,6).
